Pricing & Billing

Common questions about how NameBright prices domains, what payment methods it accepts, and how invoicing works.

It means NameBright charges you the same wholesale price it pays the registry for a domain, instead of adding its own markup on top. Most registrars build a margin into every domain's price; NameBright's at-cost model skips that markup and makes its money through a separate account-funding structure instead.

Each TLD is operated by a different registry, and each registry sets its own wholesale price. A registrar's price for any given TLD largely reflects what that TLD's registry charges.

A Pre-Funded Account is where you deposit funds in advance, by credit card, PayPal, or bank wire, and then draw from that balance for registrations, renewals, and transfers at NameBright's at-cost pricing tier. You choose it as your payment method at checkout, except for auto-renew, which draws from it automatically first if there's a balance available.

For most TLDs, no. Registration, renewal, and transfer are charged at the same price. A handful of less common TLD extensions don't follow that pattern, so check a specific TLD's pricing page if you're not sure.

Credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express), PayPal. You are also able to fund your account using Credit Card, PayPal or bank wire. A funded account balance and one or more saved cards can both be on file at the same time.

Yes. You can get a PDF from the receipt page right after a purchase, or pull it up later from Account Billing > Order History by selecting the order and opening its invoice.

No separate fees for any of these. Transferring a domain to NameBright costs the same as a normal registration, with no additional transfer fee, and the domain gets a free 1-year extension added on top. Bulk actions don't carry their own separate fee either — you're paying the normal per-domain cost for whatever the bulk action does.
