Domain Search & Registration

Common questions about checking availability, registering domains, and what happens right after you register one.

Use NameBright's domain search tool. Type in the name you want and it checks availability across TLDs in real time.

Yes. NameBright's bulk search tool lets you check and register many domains at once.

A TLD (top-level domain) is the part after the last dot: .com , .net , and so on. A ccTLD is a TLD tied to a specific country ( .uk , .de , .jp ). A "new TLD" refers to the wave of newer, non-country extensions introduced since 2013 ( .io , .app , .shop ).

Not currently, at least not through NameBright. The TLDs that typically require extra registration information (extended attributes) are ccTLDs, and NameBright doesn't offer new registration for any country-code TLD right now, only renewal and transfer of ones already registered elsewhere.

Not directly, but if it's a domain someone else has let expire, it can become available again once it fully releases, and there are specialized backordering and drop-catching services built to try to register a domain the moment it drops.

Anywhere from 1 to 10 years, chosen as a registration length step during checkout.

The domain is yours immediately, assigned NameBright's default nameservers (ns1.namebrightdns.com / ns2.namebrightdns.com) unless you specify your own. From there, it's ready for you to configure: pointing it at a website, setting up email, adding URL forwarding, or leaving it as-is if you're holding it for later.
